Prof. Yordanka Kandulkova, PhD

Yordanka Kandulkova is an architect, professor at the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Architecture, Construction and Geodesy in Sofia and honorary chairman of the Center for Excellence “Heritage BG” at the University of Architecture, Construction and Geodesy (UASG). A long-time associate of the National Institute for Immovable Cultural Heritage (NINKN formerly NIPC), where she worked as a designer, research assistant, inspector and its director. She is the author of a number of scientific publications and reports dedicated to the preservation of cultural heritage. Her professional experience also includes rich design practice in the field of spatial planning of historical territories, conservation, restoration, exposure and adaptation of architectural and archaeological real estate values and contemporary architectural creativity.
She is a member of the Union of Architects in Bulgaria (SAB), the Chamber of Architects in Bulgaria (CAB), the Bulgarian National Committee of the International Council for Cultural Monuments and Landmarks, (ICOMOS BNK), an expert of ICOMOS International on the sites of world cultural inheritance.
