Milya Dimitrova

Senior Expert "Climate Change and Decarbonization", Deloitte Bulgaria

Milya Dimitrova is an economist and lawyer with 20 years of experience in the field of climate. She has worked for local and national authorities (Ministry of Environment and Water, Sofia Municipality, Sofia Plan), international bodies and organizations (the Supervisory Committee for Joint Implementation of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, the World Bank, Purpose Climate Lab), non-governmental organizations (WWF Bulgaria) and as a consultant in support of business transformation towards low-carbon development and climate neutrality.

Mila has participated in international climate negotiations, as well as in the development of a number of strategic documents at the national and local level related to climate policies and initiatives. She was a member of: (1) the Oversight Committee for Joint Implementation of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change; (2) The Fund for Energy Efficiency and Renewable Sources in Bulgaria; and (3) the Board of Directors of the National Trust Ecofund in Bulgaria.

Milya is currently part of the Deloitte Bulgaria team and supports the business with services for integrated strategic planning and non-financial reporting on various sustainability standards and initiatives, reporting risks, impacts and opportunities related to climate change mitigation and adaptation.
