Coordinator of the "Energy Solutions" campaign in "Greenpeace" - Bulgaria
Balin Balinov has been part of the Greenpeace Bulgaria team since March 2019. Since then, he has been coordinating the organization’s “Energy Solutions” campaign. Its goal is the decentralization of the energy system by involving citizens as active participants who produce energy for their own needs – at home, united in an energy community or for the needs of their business.
In 2019, he was a member of the Bulgarian jury in the international initiative “Accelerator for Social Innovation to Combat Energy Poverty”. Within the coalition “For a green restart”, of which “Greenpeace” – Bulgaria is a part, writes opinions and proposals for improving energy projects in the National Plan for Recovery and Sustainability. He summarized some of his criticisms and recommendations in the publication “The Bulgarian Pre-Flood Energy Plan”.
After completing an intensive course at the European Civil Energy Academy, Balin Balinov became one of the creators of the Balkan Network for Energy Communities and is its ambassador in Bulgaria.
In September 2022, he was invited to join the external advisory board of the SHAREs international initiative to support energy communities.
