Stéphane Aver is a French entrepreneur and sustainability leader with over 25 years of experience in disruptive innovation and green technology. He studied at Paris I – Panthéon Sorbonne in banking, monetary economics and finance, and in 2006 founded Aaqius, a company specialising in investment and the development of technological standards in the fields of low-carbon technologies and emissions reduction for mobility and energy. Under his leadership, Aaqius became a key solutions partner for emissions controls with market-leading diesel particulate filter and SCR technologies. In 2015, he launched a Natural Hydrogen department within the Aaqius research centre, with a view to developing a new activity focused on research, exploration, exploitation and processing of native hydrogen under the brand HYNAT.
In 2017, Aaqius spun off Stor-H Technologies, a zero-CO₂ energy standard launched after eight years of R&D that powers urban and light mobility through a disruptive and proprietary hydrogen storage technology — receiving support from the Moroccan authorities, the Chinese central government, the state of Dubai, the French government and the Vietnamese government. That same year, he founded AALPS Capital, a French asset management company with an innovative fund dedicated to green energy and the mobility sector on a global scale.
In 2018, Stéphane Aver became President of the Transitions Foundation, under the auspices of FACE (Fondation Agir Contre l'Exclusion), a recognised public-interest organisation. He has also served as a special adviser and spokesperson for the Mediterranean Forum and MedCOP Climat, was president of Comité 21 for two terms, and chaired the French Pavilion at the Rio+20 Earth Summit in Brazil in 2012. He also coordinated the implementation of Solutions COP21, which occupied the Grand Palais in Paris from 4 to 10 December 2015.
