Kostadin Kostadinov is a member of Managing committee of the Strategic Program “Development of research and innovation at Trakia University in health and sustainable well-being” since February 2023 and R4 Leading Researcher in HE teaming project H2START.
He is Professor Dr. Eng. in Robotics and Mechatronics in Bulgarian Academy of Sciences since January 2012. His main field of research is robotics with application in manufacturing, micro and nanotechnology, biology and others, as well as technology transfer and innovation. His professional results are over 110 publications and 27 patents. He is SM IEEE and the leader of a team of many research projects funded by the EU Framework Programs FP4, FP6, FP7, H2020, and HE, as well as the DFG and the Bulgarian Science Foundation. His current project is HE # 101086226 "Emerging nanoscopy for single entity characterisation"(2023-2027).
Prof. Kostadinov is the Founding Chairman of the Management Board of the GIS-Transfer Center Foundation, which supports the technology transfer and innovations. Dr. Kostadinov is a member of the Association of Science and Technology Transfer Professionals (ASTP). Prof. Kostadinov was Coordinator of the Expert Council "Science, technology and innovation" to the Mayor of Sofia since June 2012 till October 2023, and advisor to the Municipality Guarantee Fund (2016-2020).
Prof. Kostadinov is National Delegate in Horizon Europe PC configurations:
Cluster 5 – Climate, Energy and Mobility;
EIC and European Innovation ecosystems;
Research Infrastructures.
He was Deputy Minister in the Ministry of Education and Science (November 12, 2014 - March 30, 2016), Advisor to the Minister of Education and Science for Research and Innovation (June 6, 2017 - May 12, 2021), Scientific Secretary of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences and member of its Managing Board (November 4, 2008 - February 12, 2013), responsible for the science "Information and Communication Sciences and Technologies" and for the technology transfer and innovations.
Dr. Kostadinov has been awarded with the Prizes of Pythagoras 2010 for his outstanding contribution to engineering science, Golden Apple 2014 for exceptional achievements in knowledge and technology transfer, the Inventor of the Year 2015 in Bulgaria, Pythagoras 2016 for his outstanding contributions for exploitation and commercialization of research results, and with registration in the Patent Office’s Golden Book in 2022. Co-founder of two technology-oriented start-ups based on IP products.
