Alastair Hammond has over 25 years of experience evaluating and delivering large, complex projects across a range of technical disciplines, with the past 15 years focused on the contracting, construction and operations of over 200 MW of wind and solar PV projects across Central and South Eastern Europe. He holds a degree in Chemistry and spent his early career as an Officer in the Royal Navy. Following his naval service, he worked for over a decade as a UK-based management consultant before moving into clean energy investment, where he has been active since 2006.
He was instrumental in launching EnerCap, the sector's first private equity fund for Central and South Eastern Europe, which was backed by institutional investors, the EBRD, and the EIB, and built and operated a portfolio of wind and solar projects across the region. Hammond subsequently became Chief Operating Officer at Rezolv Energy at its founding, before stepping up to the role of CEO following the retirement of co-founder Jim Campion. Rezolv Energy, launched in 2022 with the backing of Actis — one of the largest infrastructure funds for the energy transition — has assembled a portfolio of 2.3 GW of wind and solar projects either in operation, under construction, or in financing, with around 2 GW of that in Romania. In Bulgaria, Rezolv is developing the St. George project — a 225 MW wind farm being built on a former disused airfield in the northeast of the country, near the Romanian border. Outside of work, Hammond is Chairman of 1st Prague Scouts, was responsible for launching the Explorer Scouts section, and led the group's support for Ukrainian children displaced by the Russian invasion.
