Ivelina Vasileva

Minister of Environment and Water (2014-1017)

Ivelina Vasileva was born on October 8, 1969 in the city of Burgas. She graduated from the “Geo Milev” GPAE in the city in 1988. She has a master’s degree in English philology and a master’s degree in European Union law from Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”. She completed postgraduate qualifications and specializations in management of European projects, analysis and control of company activity and European administrative practice at UNSS (2007), Economic Academy “D. A. Tsenov – Svishtov (2006) and BSU (2009).

Ivelina is the Minister of Environment and Water in the second government of Boyko Borisov (2014 – 2017) and the Chairman of the Standing Committee on Environment and Water in the XLIV National Assembly (19.04.2017 – 26.03.2021). She is a Deputy Minister in the Ministry of Environment and Water in the office “Borisov 1” (2009 – 2013) and Deputy Mayor for European integration and ecology in the Municipality of Burgas (2007 – 2009).

She was elected as a People’s Representative in the 42nd (21.05.2013 – 05.08.2014), 43rd (27.10.2014 – 07.11.2014), 44th (19.04.2017 – 26.03.2021) and the 45th (15.04.2021-) National Assembly from the Second Electoral District-Burgas.
