Ivaylo Ivanov

Minister Ivanov graduated from the Dimitar Tsenov Academy of Economics in Svishtov with a master’s degree in finance and credit in 1993. In 2008, he graduated with a master’s degree in law from the Southwest University “Neofit Rilski” in Blagoevgrad.
Between 2003 and 2016, he worked at the Social Assistance Agency. Until September 2009 he was Deputy Executive Director of the agency, and then he was appointed Executive Director.

From June 2016 to September 2017, he held the position of Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Policy with portfolios of policies for unemployment protection, employment promotion, labor market, labor migration and free movement of workers, labor law, social security, occupational safety and health and social security. He monitors and coordinates the activities of the Employment Agency and the Executive Agency “Chief Labor Inspectorate”.

He has many years of professional experience in the field of insurance.

On September 19, 2017, he was elected by the National Assembly as the manager of the National Social Security Institute. He holds the position until his appointment as caretaker Minister of Labor and Social Policy on April 9, 2024.
