For many years she worked in the non-governmental sector, she was the chairman of the “Knowledge” Association in Lovech;
Since 2016, he has been the Deputy Chairman of the Board of the National Association of Municipalities in the Republic of Bulgaria;
Donka Mihailova is a Member of Parliament in the 40th National Assembly for the Hunting Region;

During her mandate, 85% of the city’s plumbing infrastructure was replaced, all state and municipal buildings, the buildings of the cultural institutions in Troyan, and a large part of the educational institutions were renovated. Funds for infrastructure in the villages have been increased three times.
