Andrija Tomovic

Andrija Tomovic has been serving as the General Manager of Novartis Bulgaria since 2021. Prior to joining Novartis Bulgaria, Andrija held various cross-functional positions within Novartis, progressively assuming greater responsibilities. These positions were based in different locations including Rotkreuz, Switzerland (Swiss Oncology Business Unit), Origgio/Milan, Italy (Oncology Region Europe), and Basel, Switzerland (Novartis Research and Development organizations, including Novartis Corporate and Group Finance/Investor Relations).

Andrija’s academic background includes a Bachelor of Science degree with honors in Mathematics and a Master of Science degree in Computer Science. He pursued his doctoral studies at the Friedrich Miescher Institute for Biomedical Research, which is affiliated with the Novartis Institutes for Biomedical Research, and obtained a Ph.D. (summa cum laude) in Bioinformatics from the University of Basel. Additionally, Andrija holds an Executive MBA degree from the Swiss Business School in Zürich and is a Certified Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholder accredited by the CFA Institute in VA, USA. Andrija has authored ~17 peer-reviewed and highly-cited manuscripts on topics surrounding bioinformatics, machine learning/artificial intelligence/statistics, genomics, clinical genetic studies, and the pharma stock market.
