Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Justice (2013-2014)

Zinaida Zlatanova is a long-time Bulgarian and European public sector senior manager. She was the Head of EC Representation in Bulgaria/2008-2013/, Deputy Prime Minister for European Funds/2013-2014/, and Director for European Affairs and International Financial Institutions at the Council of Ministers of Bulgaria /2001-2007/. From 1998-2001, she was Head of Unit for European Integration at the Ministry of Environment and Water of Bulgaria and deputy head of the negotiations team for the chapter "Environment" within the negotiations for Bulgaria's accession to the EU. In 2001-2007, she was a member and deputy head of the main negotiating team for all 31 negotiating chapters with the EU and the head of the secretariat of the Council for European Affairs at the Council of Ministers. She was a deputy head of the team for the coordination and preparation of the Treaty for the accession of Bulgaria and Romania to the EU. She is the Founder of the foundation Institute for Sustainable Policies and is a Member of the Board of Directors of the Liberal Institute for Political Analyses. She is a frequent public speaker on European topics and author of publications addressing transparent policy-making, the green transition, and climate change. She has a Master in Law from Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski” and is a graduate of 91 German Language High School in Sofia.
