Valentin Nikolov

Chief Executive Officer of Bulgarian Energy Holding EAD Valentin Nikolov was born in 1971. In 1995 he graduated from the Technical University of Sofia with a Master's degree in the field of mechanical engineering and internal combustion engines. Nikolov holds a Master’s degree in Financial Management from the Academy of Economics Dimitar Tsenov – town of Svishtov. He specialized Political Management at the Summer University of Strasbourg and at the New Bulgarian University in Sofia. He holds an internal auditor diploma issued by MOODY International. Valentin Nikolov has extensive experience in the fields of energy, management, marketing and advertising. In the period 2009 - 2012 and 2014 - 2021 he was a Member of the National Assembly of the Republic of Bulgaria, holding the positions of Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Economic Policy, Energy and Tourism and Member of the Committee on Budget and Finance in the 41st National Assembly, Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Energy in the 43rd National Assembly, Deputy Chairman and Chairman of the Committee on Energy in the 44th National Assembly. As a Member of the National Assembly, he made a significant contribution to the drafting and adoption of liberalisation and diversification projects in the energy sector. In 2012 he was appointed Deputy Minister of Economy, Energy and Tourism. In the period 2012-2013 he was the Chief Executive Officer of Kozloduy NPP EAD and in 2021 he was the CEO of Bulgarian Energy Holding EAD. He was a Chairman and Member of the Board of Directors of Bulgarian Energy Holding EAD and a Member of the Board of Directors of Kozloduy NPP - New Builds EAD and National Electric Company EAD. He is the Chairman of Bulgaria National World Energy Council Committee - the most significant global energy organization worldwide, which is recognized by the United Nations and unites over 90 countries. He is currently the Chief Executive Officer of Bulgarian Energy Holding EAD.
