Tsvetelina Penkova has been a Member of the European Parliament since 2019, representing the Bulgarian Socialist Party and sitting with the Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats (S&D). As a core member of the Committee on Industry, Research and Energy (ITRE), she plays a central role in shaping EU policies on energy transition, innovation, digital transformation, and research funding.
With a degree in Finance from the University of Oxford and a strong professional background in London’s financial sector, Penkova brings analytical insight and strategic vision to the European Parliament’s legislative processes. She is deeply involved in initiatives related to the European Green Deal, energy efficiency, and high-tech infrastructure.
She also serves on delegations for relations with the Western Balkans and the United States, supporting transatlantic cooperation and integration of Southeastern Europe. Penkova is a passionate advocate for youth empowerment, equal access to innovation, and a fair digital future for all European citizens.
