Tatyana Sultanova served as a Member of the Bulgarian Parliament in both the 47th and 48th National Assemblies, where she was elected Deputy Chairperson of the Environment and Water Committee in both mandates. She was also a member of the Agriculture, Food and Forestry Committee (47th Parliament) and the Healthcare Committee (48th Parliament).
With more than 15 years of experience in the Ministry of Environment and Water, Sultanova has held both expert and leadership roles, including playing an active part in Bulgaria’s EU accession process in the Environment sector.
She is also a lecturer in the master’s program “Environmental Management and Monitoring Programs” at Paisii Hilendarski University of Plovdiv. Additionally, she has worked as a project manager at a private investment company.
Sultanova holds two master’s degrees – in Genetics and Microbiology, and in Biodiversity, Ecology and Conservation – and completed postgraduate training in Biotechnology at Fort Valley State University in Atlanta, USA. She has received certifications from numerous national and international programs in areas such as public administration, project management, mediation, diplomacy, and environmental protection.
Fluent in English, she is an avid hiker and cyclist. She is married and the mother of a 10-year-old son.
