Svetoslav Benchev has been part of the team of BPGA since 2010, having started his activity as an expert in European and international law. Since 2015, he has held the position of Lawyer and since 2019, Chief Lawyer, a position he has held in the association until now. Over the years, he has participated in numerous forums, international and national workshops and has worked on various legal and regulatory issues. He is familiar with the activities of the association, the peculiarities of the industry, developments and trends in the liquid fuels market.
Svetoslav Benchev is a pupil of the National High School for Ancient Languages and Linguistics. He continued his studies at Robert Schuman University in Strasbourg in the field of international and European law. He completed his Master's degree in Community Law at the University of Luxembourg, after which he specialised at the Court of Justice of the European Union.
He has worked in the private sector in France. He holds a Master's degree in Intellectual Property Law from the Centre for the Study of Intellectual and Industrial Property in Strasbourg. He is co-founder of the Association of Bulgarian Students in Strasbourg. Author of articles related to EC law in the field of tax policy and double taxation, to the Law on oil and oil reserves, the Value Added Tax Law, etc., and of publications in the Bulgarian press on topical issues.
