Stoyan Tchoukanov is the President of the Section for Agriculture, Rural Development and the Environment (NAT) at the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC), a position he has held since his election during the Committee's renewal in late 2025. An engineer by training with a Master’s degree in Livestock Selection and Reproduction, he offers a distinct perspective that bridges high-level EU policymaking with frontline agricultural practice. He has been a member of the EESC since 2020, representing Bulgaria's civil society organizations, and has served for over a decade as the President of the Beef Breeders Association of Bulgaria (BBAB).
