Silvia Georgieva

Silvia Georgieva is a Bulgarian expert with over 25 years of academic and professional experience in local self-government. Born on July 29, 1974, in Svilengrad, she graduated from Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski” with degrees in Political Science (1997) and European Public Administration (2007). She holds a postgraduate qualification in “Leadership and Local Democracy” from the Central European University in Budapest (2005) and has completed specializations in project management with European funding in Bulgaria, Belgium, and Greece.
Her professional experience includes:
Managing the non-governmental organization Foundation “Svilengrad 2000” (2000–2005);
Serving as a municipal councilor in the Svilengrad Municipal Council (2003–2006);
Managing the NAMRB-Active consultancy company, providing services to municipalities (2006–2017).
Since January 2018, she has been elected as the Executive Director of NAMRB. In this role, she organizes the implementation of the decisions of the Management Board, leads and coordinates the activities of the administrative staff, represents the Association in project applications and management, and develops the annual draft budget for discussion and approval.
Silvia Georgieva is married and has one child.
