Prof. Dr. Tanya Marinova

Prof. Dr. Tanya Marinova is a leading Bulgarian scientist in the fields of meteorology and hydrology, with extensive experience in scientific research and management of scientific institutions. In April 2023, she assumed the position of Director General of NIMH, having previously served as Deputy Director General for Scientific Activities . As the head of NIMH, Prof. Marinova is responsible for the strategic development of the institute, which is the main executor of scientific research and operational activities in meteorology, agrometeorology, and hydrology in Bulgaria. Under her leadership, NIMH continues to adhere to the standards of the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) and actively participates in international programs and initiatives . Prof. Marinova is recognized for her contributions to the advancement of research in climate change and sustainable water resource management. She actively works to improve scientific infrastructure and encourages the participation of young scientists in international projects and forums.
