Christiaan Vermorken is a lawyer, historian and political scientist. He obtained a PhD in Political Science at the European University Institute and holds several Master's degrees, including a Master's in History at the University of Bologna and a Master's in Political Sciences, Peoples and Societies of Eastern Europe, Russia and the Caucasus at the University of Brussels. He has expertise in public policy analysis, legal and institutional history, military doctrine and foreign languages, and has cooperated with international institutions including the European Parliament.

He is currently CEO and Administrateur délégué at Carrières du Hainaut, having previously worked as Legal Counsel at the company, as well as at Jurisco BV-SRL and the Université libre de Bruxelles.

Carrières du Hainaut operates as a fully integrated natural stone producer, controlling the entire value chain from extraction of large quarry blocks through industrial sawing and transformation to the production of finished architectural elements and building materials. The company forms part of SigmaRoc PLC, a London-listed industrial minerals group focused on building materials and sustainable mineral resources, and stands as a flagship operation within the group — a symbol of how traditional natural resources can be managed with modern industrial efficiency and environmental responsibility.
