Volodia Kirov is General Director of the Association of the Bulgarian Enterprises for International Transport and Roads (AEBTRI). The Association represents the interests of the Bulgarian international carriers of passengers and goods, is an active member of the International Road Transport Union (IRU) – Geneva, and the guarantor for Bulgaria of the international customs transit system TIR.
He graduated from the Technical University of Sofia, Department of "Road Transport". There he also defended his Ph.D. dissertation, after which he was elected as an associate professor in the scientific specialty "Management and Organization of Road Transport" and worked as a lecturer for more than 40 years. He acquired additional specializations in "Marketing and Management" and "Engineering Ecology" and has completed qualification courses and training in some of the largest European companies - vehicle manufacturers in France, England and the Netherlands.
Volodia Kirov has worked on consulting contracts for many companies in the field of road transport, vehicle’s production and distribution, for state, municipal and non-governmental organizations. He was a technical consultant on the National Program for the Transition to Unleaded Fuels and the Impact on Vehicles Reliability, as well as on the implementation in Bulgaria of the technical legislation of the European Union and the technical requirements for vehicles of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe. He has participated in the IRU committees and working parties on technical affairs, road safety and transport of dangerous goods. Volodia Kirov was the executive director of the Executive Agency "Road Transport Administration", and a longtime manager and lecturer at AEBTRI training center.
