Petyo Ivanov is a Bulgarian energy expert with over 20 years of experience in managing strategic infrastructure projects. Since January 2024, he has served as the Executive Director of Kozloduy NPP New Builds Plc, a 100% subsidiary of Kozloduy NPP Plc. The company is responsible for constructing new nuclear capacities at the Kozloduy Nuclear Power Plant site, including two Westinghouse AP1000® reactors, with planned commissioning in 2033–2034. Prior to this, in 2021, Petyo Ivanov was the Executive Director of the Bulgarian Energy Holding (BEH) Plc. In 2012, he held the position of Deputy Minister of Economy, Energy, and Tourism. He has experience in leading the National Electric Company (NEK) and the National Holding Company for Radioactive Waste (NHCRW). He was also a Member of Parliament from the GERB party. Under his leadership, Kozloduy NPP New Builds successfully signed an engineering contract with Westinghouse and Hyundai Engineering & Construction in November 2024, initiating the licensing and planning process for the new nuclear units. In April 2025, the company issued invitations to select a financial consultant to assist in the financial structuring of the Units 7 and 8 project.
