Green Transition Forum 6.0

Marius Koeppen is a Senior Analyst at the Energy and Climate Program of the Center for the Study of Democracy. His research focuses on European energy security, industrial and power-sector decarbonisation, as well as energy, climate and just transition policies. At CSD, he leads the regular revision and upgrading of the Energy and Climate Security Risk Index, a data-driven tool assessing geopolitical, affordability, reliability, and sustainability risks across EU member states. He has contributed to analytical and modelling projects on industrial competitiveness, long-term decarbonisation pathways, offshore wind development in the Black Sea region, and the influence of Russian energy networks in Europe. His work combines policy analysis with quantitative modelling, scenario building, and data-driven indices. He has also applied network-analysis methods to map German-Russian lobbying networks and to uncover complex ownership structures of Russian-linked companies across Europe.
