Kostadin Lazarov is an expert with extensive professional experience in the fields of aviation engineering, crisis management, modelling and simulation, as well as the development of software and hardware solutions. During the period 1999–2012, he served as a Senior Engineer in the Second Aircraft Maintenance Squadron at an Air Force base. He subsequently continued his professional development as Head of the OpsLab Section at the Crisis Management and Disaster Response Centre of Excellence.
He is an active participant in international NATO research projects within NMSG-147, NMSG-187 and NMSG-221, with the NMSG-147 project having been recognized as "Project of the Year" by the STO community.
He is the author and co-author of scientific publications in the fields of crisis management, resilience, modelling and artificial intelligence, published in international scientific forums and journals, including ITSEC and Springer.
