Katrin is a sustainability professional with more than a decade of experience working across the corporate, NGO, and research sectors on environmental responsibility, biodiversity, and sustainable business transformation. She holds an MsC in Environmental Sciences and Policy and Eco-management.
Her experience in the private sector spans from sustainability consultant working with multinational companies on their biodiversity and sustainability strategies to leadership roles in sustainability and compliance teams, where she worked on international projects and managed cross-functional teams in dynamic corporate environments. Alongside her work in the NGO and private sector, she is currently pursuing a PhD with the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. Previously she has contributed to initiatives connected to UNESCO’s Man and Biosphere Programme, environmental education, and sustainable regional development. Her recent work focuses on biodiversity metrics, ESG and bridging the gap between business operations and environmental responsibility. Combining strategic business understanding with hands-on experience in environmental initiatives, she advocates for practical collaborations that help companies move from sustainability commitments to measurable impact and connect science, policy, and the private sector to support a resilient and regenerative economy.
