Joanna Masic is a Lead Urban Specialist at the World Bank, focusing on cities and climate change. She leads high-impact urban transformation programs that support national and local governments in achieving climate-resilient, low-carbon development pathways. With over 20 years of international experience, Joanna has worked in more than 30 countries across Europe, Asia, Latin America, and the Middle East. Her expertise spans urban resilience, integrated city planning, green infrastructure, and climate financing mechanisms, helping cities navigate the complex challenges of rapid urbanization and environmental pressures. Joanna holds a Master’s degree from Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government and is a key contributor to the World Bank’s flagship publications on sustainable urban development and climate action. She is recognized for her strategic leadership in aligning urban growth with climate goals to build more inclusive and future-ready cities.
