Henna Partanen is a city councillor and member of the City Board of Espoo, Finland’s second-largest city and a pioneer in municipal sustainability. An architect specializing in urban planning and sustainable development, she works professionally on carbon-neutral construction, circular economy in infrastructure, and the development of sustainable, low-carbon urban environments.

At the European level, Henna is an active member of the European Committee of the Regions (CoR), where she sits on the Commission for the Environment, Climate Change and Energy (ENVE) and the Commission for Territorial Cohesion Policy and EU Budget (COTER). She plays a key role in aligning local Nordic climate innovations with broader European legislation, focusing heavily on clean mobility, energy-efficient housing, and biodiversity integration in city planning.
