Hanna Zdanowska has been the Mayor of the City of Łódź since 2010. She has pioneered some of the largest urban transformation and regeneration initiatives in Poland. Under her leadership, Łódź has emerged as a municipal climate leader, securing a spot in the European Commission’s prestigious 100 Climate-Neutral and Smart Cities Mission.

Beyond her local governance, Mayor Zdanowska is heavily involved in European climate diplomacy. She is a full member of the European Committee of the Regions (CoR), where she sits on the Commission for the Environment, Climate Change and Energy (ENVE). She also actively shapes regional policy as an Ambassador for both the EU Covenant of Mayors and the European Climate Pact, and serves as a rapporteur for key EU frameworks, including the Action Plan for Affordable Energy.
