Elina Bardram

Elina Bardram is a leading figure in European climate policy with over 20 years of experience in international relations and sustainable development. Since October 2022, she has served as Director for Adaptation & Resilience, Communication, and Civil Society Relations at the Directorate-General for Climate Action (DG CLIMA) of the European Commission. In June 2023, she was appointed as the Mission Manager for the EU Mission on Adaptation to Climate Change . Her career at the European Commission began in 2003 at the Directorate-General for External Relations, and in 2010 she joined DG CLIMA. Between 2014 and 2018, she led the EU delegation to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) negotiations . Bardram holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the Vienna University of Economics and Business, with academic work focusing on the impacts of globalization. As Mission Manager for the EU Mission on Adaptation to Climate Change, she emphasizes the need for innovation, collaboration, and knowledge exchange to develop and implement effective adaptation strategies that build resilience at all levels—from local communities to global ecosystems.
