Cristian Silviu Bușoi has been a member of the European Parliament since 2007, currently active in the Committee for Internal Market and Consumer Protection, the Delegation to the EU – Moldova Parliamentary Committee and the Delegation for the EURONEST Parliamentary Assembly.
Prior to this, he was a member of the Romanian Parliament from 2004 to 2007, where he was part of the Health and Family Committee. He has been a member of the National Liberal Party for more than 15 years, and between 2007 and 2010 he sat on the board of its National Political Bureau as responsible for the West Region Development.
In 1999 he founded the "21st Century Youth" association in Drobeta Turnu Severin and since 2007 has been a member of the board of the Institute for Liberal Studies in Bucharest. He holds degrees from the Carol Davila University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Bucharest, Carol I National Defence College, and the Law Faculty of Titu Maiorescu University.
