Atanas Kostadinov

Atanas Kostadinov was born on May 3, 1968, in Sofia, Bulgaria. He holds two master’s degrees from Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski” and has pursued doctoral studies at the Institute of Sociology, Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. He worked as a senior analyst at the Center for the Study of Democracy and completed a specialization at Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government.
Kostadinov served as Deputy Minister of Environment and Water from 2005 to 2009 and again from 2013 to 2014. He was also a Member of Parliament in the 44th, 45th, and 46th National Assemblies, where he sat on both the Environment and Water Committee and the Energy Committee. In recent years, he has been part of the political cabinet at the Ministry of Environment and Water, serving as an advisor and parliamentary secretary.
He brings extensive experience in shaping and implementing national environmental policy, as well as managing investment and infrastructure projects.
