Optimems CEO & Co-founder Angelina Bintoudi is a Greek entrepreneur and energy engineer specializing in smart energy systems, microgrids, and virtual power plants. She has led the company since its founding in 2022 as a deep-tech spin-off from the Centre for Research and Technology Hellas (CERTH). Under her leadership, Optimems develops advanced software and hardware solutions for energy optimization and management, supporting the transition toward smarter and more decarbonized energy systems.
Bintoudi brings more than a decade of experience in research and energy engineering. She has an academic background in electrical engineering and pursued doctoral research at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki focused on fault-tolerant DC microgrids. Her work combines scientific research, entrepreneurship, and the implementation of practical technologies for renewable energy integration, energy storage systems, and intelligent electricity networks.
Under Bintoudi’s leadership, Optimems has gained international recognition, including awards from MIT StartSmart SEE, selection among the Top 10 startups globally at Web Summit Vancouver 2025, and first place in the NBG Business Seeds competition. The company has emerged as one of Greece’s leading innovators in energy management, developing AI-powered platforms for optimizing distributed energy resources and enabling energy flexibility across European markets.
