Alexander Zagorov

Alexander Zagorov is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in the energy sector and social dialogue. He is recognized as one of the most active voices in the just transition process in Bulgaria. His career began in 1991 at Mini Maritsa-East EAD, and just four years later, he assumed a leadership role as Chairman of the Miners' Federation at the “Podkrepa” Confederation of Labour. Since 2003, he has held the position of Confederal Secretary of “Podkrepa”, representing the confederation in the Economic and Social Council, as well as in numerous bodies for social dialogue and inter-ministerial working groups focused on climate and energy policies. He is actively involved in both national and European platforms for dialogue on just transition, energy security, and the social dimensions of the Green Deal.
