Green Transition Forum 2025
Ádám Harmat is the Climate and Energy Programme Lead at WWF Central and Eastern Europe, where he focuses on accelerating the region’s transition toward a just, climate-resilient, and nature-positive energy system, in close collaboration with national WWF offices in Bulgaria, Hungary, Romania and Ukraine. With a background in environmental policy and a decade of experience working at the intersection of climate, energy, and social equity, he works closely with national public stakeholders, civil society, and EU institutions to shape and implement effective decarbonisation strategies.
His current work includes guiding WWF’s engagement on national climate strategies, supporting the designation of acceleration areas for onshore wind and solar, advocating for socially fair climate policies such as the Social Climate Fund, and critically assessing the role of biomass and hydropower in Central and Eastern Europe.
