Daniel Lorer

Daniel Lorer holds a degree in computer science and business management from the Tel Aviv University. He has the name of an investor and entrepreneur of 20-yearlong international experience.

Daniel Lorer established his first startup FranceBusinessPlus in 1999 in Paris that later was sold successfully. He worked as an IT expert in the Israeli high-tech company Mercury Interactive that was acquired in 2006 by Hewlett-Packard. After the acquisition Daniel Lorer was one of the promoters of OPTiiM, a high-tech company for software solutions based in Istanbul and sold in 2016 to the Austrian Holding New Frontier Group.

Daniel Lorer is one of the founders and managing partner of BrightCap Ventures – a venture capital fund for technology companies. His responsibility is to evaluate new companies and to monitor the implementation of their business plans.

Daniel Lorer teaches at the Center for Applied Studies and Innovation in natural sciences (CASI) and at the Center for Economic Strategy and Competitiveness at the Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”.

In 2013 Daniel Lorer was an adviser to the Minister of e-Government in a caretaker cabinet with Prime Minister Marin Raykov. In 2021 he was an adviser in the office of Kiril Petkov, Minister of Economy; from 12 May 2021 he chaired the Transparency Commission at the Ministry of Economy within the first caretaker cabinet with Prime Minister Stefan Yanev.

Daniel Lorer has worked and lived in Sofia, Tel Aviv, Brussels, Zurich, and Barcelona. Languages: English, Hebrew, French, Russian and German.
