
Svetlana Boyanova
Chair of "Institute for agro-strategies and innovation"
Svetlana Boyanova is one of the leading experts in Bulgaria on Common Agricultural Policy. She graduated law from the Burgas Free University and began her career as a chief expert in the Integration Policy Department at the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry in January 2000. At that time her focus was on the Common Agricultural Policy, as well as organic farming and legal protection of the varieties in the EU. Since mid-2003 she has been a legal advisor at the Bulgarian International Business Association (BIBA), currently KRIB. From 2008 to 2010 she was Executive Director of the Association of Agricultural Producers in Bulgaria. In the first GERB government she is Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food, with departments “Land Relations”, “Direct Payments” and “Rural Development Program”. Since November 2013 she is the chaor of the Institute for Agricultural Strategies and Innovation aiming to inform the general public about the complex political relations at EU level and interpret the documents accompanying the creation and implementation of agricultural policies.
