Doc. Ivan Ivanov

Ivan Nikolaev Ivanov is a Bulgarian scientist (professor) and politician. People’s representative in the XXXVIII (UDS PG), XXXIX (UDS PG/later DSB PG), 40th (DSB PG) and XLI National Assembly (Blue Coalition PG). From April 2, 2015 to February 10, 2022 and from July 28, 2022 to the present, he is the chairman of the energy regulator KEVR.

Ivan Nikolaev Ivanov was born on July 24, 1945 in Plovdiv, Bulgaria. He graduated from secondary education in Plovdiv in 1963 and the Higher Mechanical and Electrical Engineering Institute (today the Technical University) in Sofia (in “Electrical Measurement Technology”) in 1968, where he remained as an assistant in the Faculty of Automation.

In 1976, he defended his thesis and became a doctor in the field of technical sciences. Since 1982, he has been an associate professor at the Department of Electromeasuring Technology, Technical University – Sofia, and since 1985, an associate professor at the National Higher Technical School – Tunis.

In 1993, he became the chairman of the organization of the Association of Democratic Trade Unions (ADS) at TU – Sofia. In 1995, he took over the leadership of the “UNESCO” department at TU-Sofia and is a member of the Faculty Council of the Faculty of “Automatics”, TU-Sofia. He gives lectures in the Francophone Department of Electrical Engineering at TU – Sofia.

Author of more than 60 scientific articles and reports, one monograph, 4 textbooks and teaching aids in Bulgarian and French.
