Dimitar Tsotsorkov

Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Assarel-Medet AD

Dimitar Tsotsorkov is Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Asarel- Medet AD and Executive Director of the Asarel Investment EAD subsidiary. He was born in 1975 in Panagyurishte and attended the language high school in Pazardzhik. He has two bachelor’s degrees – one in economics and finance and another in computer science, from Richmond, the American International University in London. He holds a master’s degree in Information Management and Finance from Westminster University in London.

He worked at London Electricity and Glencore UK before returning to Bulgaria in 2001 and starting his career at Asarel-Medet AD as a sales and hedging expert. He became head of department and director of Corporate Development, and since 2014 he has been part of the Management Board, and later its chairman before becoming the head of the Supervisory Board in 2017. He is married and has three children.

Dimitar Tsotsorkov is the first Bulgarian to be awarded for his contribution to sustainable development by the UN Global Compact in New York.
