Tim Kurth

Tim Kurth is an accomplished leader in the metallurgical industry with over 20 years of experience in managing production processes and logistics. Since September 1, 2024, he has held the position of Chief Operations Officer for Custom Smelting and Products at Aurubis AG, a leading global producer of non-ferrous metals and one of the largest copper recyclers worldwide. Kurth began his career at Unilever, followed by a role at Numico in Poland. He joined Aurubis in 2006, taking on various leadership positions, including Corporate Innovation Manager and Vice President of Corporate Logistics. In 2014, he was appointed Managing Director of Aurubis Bulgaria and Plant Manager of the Pirdop site, where he led strategic investments and sustainable development of one of the company’s key production facilities. Under his leadership, the Pirdop plant became the first worldwide to successfully undergo recertification under the Copper Mark standard, reaffirming Aurubis’s commitment to sustainable and responsible metal production. Tim Kurth also serves as the President of the German-Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, actively promoting economic cooperation and sustainable industrial practices between the two countries.
