Temenuzhka Petkova
Minister of Finance of the Republic of Bulgaria
Temenuzhka Petkova is a seasoned public finance and energy policy expert, with a distinguished career in Bulgaria’s public administration. Known for her pragmatic leadership style and strategic foresight, she has played a central role in some of the country’s most impactful reforms in the energy sector and financial oversight.
She holds a degree in Accounting and Control from the University of National and World Economy in Sofia. Her early career includes a position as auditor at the Bulgarian National Audit Office, with a focus on energy sector finances, followed by her appointment as Director of the Financial Control Directorate at the State Financial Inspection Agency.
From 2014 to 2021, she served as Bulgaria’s Minister of Energy across three consecutive governments. During her tenure, she led major initiatives related to energy diversification, infrastructure modernization, and nuclear energy development.
Recognised for her dedication to fiscal discipline and energy security, she is currently Minister of Finance in the Bulgarian government of Rosen Zheliazkov.
