Siegfried Mureșan is a prominent Romanian Member of the European Parliament and a leading voice in EU fiscal and budgetary policy. As Co-Rapporteur on the Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF), he is responsible for shaping the Parliament’s position on the EU's long-term budget 2021–2027, ensuring sustainable investments in key areas such as climate transition, innovation, infrastructure, and cohesion.
In his capacity as Vice-Chair of the European People's Party (EPP) Group, Mureșan oversees budgetary affairs, regional development, and cohesion policies. He is known for his dedication to transparent financial governance and strong support for Central and Eastern European countries within EU policymaking.
He has played a pivotal role in the adoption and oversight of the EU Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF) and has advocated for a crisis-responsive budget framework in light of the COVID-19 pandemic and the war in Ukraine.
