Lasse Melgaard

Lasse Melgaard is a Danish national with over two decades of experience in international development, having worked across Southeast Asia, Eastern, and Southern Africa. Prior to his current role, he served as the World Bank’s Resident Representative based in Suva, Fiji, and coordinated the Bank’s work in the South Pacific from Sydney, Australia.
He holds a Master’s degree in Law and Diplomacy from the Fletcher School at Tufts University, where he was a Fulbright Scholar. Before joining the World Bank, he worked for Denmark’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the United Nations Capital Development Fund, the Danish Red Cross, and the Danish International Development Agency (DANIDA) in Tanzania, Uganda, Ethiopia, and Vietnam.
