Lars Weiss

Lars Weiss is a Danish politician from the Social Democratic Party, born on May 20, 1971, in Frederiksberg. Since August 29, 2024, he has been serving again as the acting Lord Mayor of Copenhagen, following the departure of former mayor Sophie Hæstorp Andersen, who left to become Minister for Social Affairs and Housing.  Previously, Weiss served as acting Lord Mayor from October 19, 2020, to December 31, 2021, after the resignation of Frank Jensen.  Weiss has been a long-standing member of the Copenhagen City Council, where he has held positions such as First Deputy Chairman of the Citizens’ Representation, member of the Finance Committee and the Technical and Environmental Committee, and group chairman of the Social Democrats at City Hall.
