Jes Nielsen

Jes Brogaard Nilsen is the ambassador of the Kingdom of Denmark in Bulgaria, born on December 14, 1968. Married with two children, he has extensive experience and education in the field of economics. He obtained his master's degree in economics from the University of Copenhagen in 1995, after which he spent an academic period at the University of California, Los Angeles. His career includes various positions in the Danish public administration, having worked in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Fisheries, as well as in the Permanent Representation of Denmark to the European Union. In September 2021, he was appointed ambassador of Denmark to Bulgaria. Nielsen has extensive experience in international relations, trade policy and coordination with the European Union. His professional career spanned various aspects of Denmark's foreign policy, including work in missions to the United Nations and other international organizations. With his experience in the field of international relations and the internal market of the EU, Jes Nielsen develops and strengthens the relations between Denmark and Bulgaria.
