Helena McLeod
Deputy Director General and Head of Green Growth Planning and Implementation at the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI)
In this role, she leads operations in over 50 countries in Latin America, Africa, Asia, the Middle East and the Pacific region that aim to achieve economic growth that is environmentally sustainable, socially inclusive and climate compatible.
Helena is British and has over 25 years experience in designing and leading innovative development programs and high performance multi-disciplinary teams in the fields of green cities, renewable energy, sustainable transport, climate smart agriculture, forest conservation, climate resilience, trade and regional economic integration .
She has lived much of the past twenty-five years in Africa, as well as the Pacific and Asia, and has worked globally. Her career moves into the public sector. She has designed and managed over $1 billion in grants aimed at mobilizing many more billions in public and commercial finance to address global green growth challenges.
She has dedicated her career to the transition to green growth and is an advocate for people and people with disabilities. She holds an MA in Environmental and Natural Resource Economics from University College London and a BA in Economics from the London School of Economics.
