Eng. Zdravko Bratoev

Eng. Zdravko Bratoev is a seasoned expert in electricity distribution with over 20 years of experience in the energy sector. Since January 1, 2021, he has served as the Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors of Electrodistribution Grid South – a company servicing over 1.6 million metering points and more than 60,000 km of distribution network in Southeastern Bulgaria . His career at EVN Bulgaria began in 2000, during which he has held various managerial positions in network engineering, technical operations, and network management. In 2019, he was appointed as an executive member of the company’s Board of Directors . Eng. Bratoev actively participates in the company’s strategic initiatives, including the modernization and digitalization of the electricity distribution network. Under his leadership, Electrodistribution Grid South has invested over BGN 2.2 billion in infrastructure upgrades over the past 19 years; however, less than one-third of the network has been modernized . In 2022, he was honored with the prestigious “Energy Specialist of the Year” award by the Bulgarian Branch Chamber of Energy (BBCE) for his longstanding contribution to the development of the energy sector in Bulgaria . Eng. Bratoev holds a degree in Electrical Engineering from the Technical University – Sofia, Sliven Faculty, and a degree in Economics from the University of Veliko Tarnovo “St. Cyril and St. Methodius.” He also possesses a management certificate from The Open University – Business School .
