Dr. Selahattin Armağan Vurdu

Dr. Selahattin Armağan Vurdu serves as the Secretary General of the Istanbul Minerals and Metals Exporters’ Association (İMMİB), a pivotal organization representing over 25,000 Turkish exporters across sectors such as metals, minerals, chemicals, electronics, and jewelry. In his role, Dr. Vurdu is instrumental in shaping Turkey’s international trade strategies and fostering sustainable export growth. With a distinguished career in trade policy and industrial development, Dr. Vurdu has been a prominent figure in global forums addressing critical issues like decarbonization and circular economy. He has moderated high-level panels, including sessions at the World Trade Organization’s 13th Ministerial Conference in Abu Dhabi and COP29, focusing on challenges and opportunities in transitioning to a low-carbon economy.  Dr. Vurdu’s academic background includes a Ph.D. in economics, and he is recognized for his expertise in international trade, industrial policy, and sustainable development. His leadership at İMMİB continues to influence Turkey’s position in the global export landscape.
