Dr. Oded Sagee

Dr. Oded Sagee is an Israeli scientist and entrepreneur with extensive experience in plant physiology and agricultural biotechnology. He is the founder of Israel Plant Sciences and affiliated companies such as PlantEXT and BreedIT, focusing on developing innovative solutions in agriculture and the medical cannabis industry. Sagee holds a Ph.D. in Plant Physiology from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and has served as a senior researcher and department head at the Agricultural Research Organization (Volcani Center) in Israel. He has significant experience in scientific development and management of various R&D projects, as well as in establishing startups in the agri-tech and biotech sectors. As Chairman of CapsiBreed, Sagee leads efforts to apply gene editing in pepper breeding, aiming to enhance crop resilience, flavor, and yield. His work focuses on accelerating the adoption of innovative technologies in agriculture and improving global food security.
