Dr. Nikolay Georgiev

Dr. Nikolay Georgiev was appointed as the Executive Director of the Executive Agency for Fisheries and Aquaculture (EAFA) in August 2023. Prior to this role, he served as the Head of the “Fisheries and Control” sector at EAFA in Varna.  He holds a degree in veterinary medicine and a second master’s degree in veterinary management, legislation, and administration.  As Executive Director of EAFA, Dr. Georgiev focuses on the conservation of Bulgaria’s fishery resources and strengthening international cooperation in fisheries and aquaculture. In November 2023, he participated in the 46th annual session of the General Fisheries Commission for the Mediterranean (GFCM), where key issues related to the sustainable management of marine resources were discussed.
