Connie Hedegaard
Chair of the EU Mission Board on Adaptation to Climate Change
Connie Hedegaard is a leading figure in climate policy and sustainable development. She currently serves as the Chair of the European Commission’s Mission Board on Adaptation to Climate Change, aiming to promote sustainable and innovative solutions to address climate challenges across Europe.
From 2010 to 2014, Hedegaard was the European Commissioner for Climate Action, leading negotiations for the adoption of the EU 2030 Climate and Energy Framework and developing the 2050 Roadmap for a low-carbon economy.
Prior to her role as Commissioner, Hedegaard served as Denmark’s Minister for the Environment (2004–2007) and Minister for Climate and Energy (2007–2009). She is also the Chair of the Board of the KR Foundation, Denmark’s green think tank CONCITO, and the OECD Round Table on Sustainable Development.
With her extensive leadership and commitment to climate action, Connie Hedegaard continues to play a pivotal role in global efforts to tackle climate change and promote sustainable development.
