“Over the next seven years, over BGN 1.5 billion will be invested in policies related to transport connectivity, which are important for improving the climate and implementing the so-called This is what the Minister of Transport, Georgi Gvozdeikov, said during the third day of the “Green Transition and CEE 2023” forum, which is being held in Sofia. He pointed out that over BGN 600 million will be invested in improving the railway infrastructure, and BGN 1 billion are entirely the funds from the National Plan for Recovery and Sustainability. “The goal is to improve the infrastructure and to modernize the entire railway infrastructure so that we can achieve the desired fast speeds and destinations,” added Minister Gvozdeikov. In his words, by 2026, Bulgaria must complete the modernization of railway transport by renewing the rolling stock, which “will make ecological transport much more modern, accessible, efficient and comfortable for us as a society”.

According to the minister, one should think about serious investments in creating the possibility of using charging stations for electric cars.

“Green Bulgaria – a goal that we must all achieve. This is the goal of our government, the vision of the Ministry of Transport,” said Minister Georgi Gvozdeikov. He pointed out that the vision and policies of the ministry and the government is to improve the ecological balance.
